Pay Off!

Today is Saturday and it's the fifth day of exercise. I decided to go all out and do the 4 mile walk away the pounds. I am so excited that I did it. I had a brief thought of doing only 3 but pushed myself to finish it. I am really glad that I did. My legs really feel it.

Finally, the scale and measuring tape are going my way. I lost 5lbs and it stayed off. I lost 2 inches in my waist and 1/2 inch in my hips. I am just so pumped about it. I know the key has been working out 5 days a week. I also don't eat big portions and I am trying to snack more during the day. I admit the. snacks may not always be healthy but I am big on a treat now and then.

I know the reality is that the weight won't always drop like this and eventually I will plateau but for now it is working and that is all that matters.

Confession

So I have a confession to make. I cheated and weighed yesterday after I worked out and though I am not suppose to, I was glad I did. It made me so excited that my five day week work outs are starting to pay off. I won't spoil the moment because my official weigh in is on Saturday and a lot can happen until then. So I will just have to wait and see the result.

The blahs

Yesterday I had the blahs. It didn't help that I was so tired. Levi decided to wake up at 3am and so I changed him and gave him some milk to settle down. He fell asleep on me in the recliner. I loved holding him and just could not part with him. So I tried to sleep in the chair and every time he moved, I woke up. It was a long time before he woke up at 7:30am.  I thought about taking a nap but just could not. His naps were rather short anyway. Thus the blahs began.

I tried to think of something to make for dinner but just could not. What I had planned on, I forgot to take out the chicken and I did not have green onions. So the blah mood continued. Mike was patient when he came home and told me we could finish the leftovers from Sunday's dinner. I was really appreciative.

Then I went to get ready to work out and found a text from my exercise partner, Martha. So with that, I asked Mike if he would go to the store with me to get the stuff I needed for dinner. He did and we walked around. I just felt blah. It didn't help that I was in my exercise clothes, hair pulled up, bangs not done, no makeup and just plain frumpy. It didn't help that Walmart was packed full of people and everywhere we went, there were four or five people looking at the same items. One girl got frustrated with us because we weren't moving and for some reason going past us seemed a huge deal. So that got me frustrated and ready to pull my hair out. Did I mention it was a blah day?

Having survived Walmart, we went home and turned on the tube. I watched my show and Mike played hand held Yatzee (Only type of game he will play-electronic). Levi played and started to get into things he shouldn't. I finally had had enough and off to bed the little feller went. I finished my show while folding laundry. I went and did the dishes so they could be turned on after Mike's shower. I climbed into bed and felt like crying and admit tears threatened to spill. I hate those blah days. Emotions run high and you just don't know why. I finally fell asleep hoping that the blah day would not repeat!

Week 2

This is the second week for me to walk five or six days a week. Last week I did really well. I did 5 days in a row. I would have done six but we had to go make a significant purchase. I did walk around the dealership yard however so that was something. Anyways, this week I have worked out 3 days so far and I really feel my body tightening up which is great. Mike told me that he could tell I was firming up. I think the variety of exercise is definitely helping. The scale may not show it yet, but I have hopes of knocking it off.

The only thing that may defeat me this week is that time of the month. I was almost two weeks late when it hit. I am still positive about it. I just have ate more junk food this week due to hormones. It's okay as long as I get six days done of exercise.

Just Get Up and Move

I did my fifth day of exercise this week. I am so excited. I finally broke through and did one more day a week. Four days is all I have managed to do on good weeks. I am so pumped. I did Debbie Mazda's weight workout and I feel great!

No Time Like Today

On Friday, we went over to get our family pictures done. The ones Levi took were adorable. The pictures Mike and I got together were cute. I knew I had put on some weight and have been trying to get it off, but reality hit when I saw those pictures. I needed to refocus my energy and time to be more physically fit. I had just gotten up that morning and did a 3 mile walk as well as one the night before with my friend Martha. It was evident to me that I was just not doing enough. 3-4 times a week just was not cutting it. I need to do more to be active.

It occurred to me that during the day when it is just me and Levi, I am not very active. I play with him a bit but I am not walking or moving much. Well I decided that even if I did a short walk in the mornings and then go work out with Martha, I will feel better. So yesterday that's what I did. I did a mile walk in my living room with my 16 month coach cheering me on. Then Martha and I did a new routine and even though it about killed us, it was fabulous. We did the intermediate workout. I feel it today. As I watched the videos yesterday of the new program...I just liked what Debbie, the trainer, said..."just get up and move." It really hit home. So that's going to be my new motto from now on.

I did her video today of the warmup, abs workout, lower body workout, and cool down. It lasted about 24 minutes. I am going to do a 2 mile walk this afternoon. That's what it is about...."Just get up and move!"
