Creative Scrapbook

I have been drawn to scrapbooking since I came home from my mission in 2000. The first attempt at scrapbooking was of my mission pictures. It was crude but has looked okay for my first attempt. I have done our wedding album and Levi's baby album. I came across a wonderful concept of digital scrapbooking. I have since done our family albums in digital just because it is so easy and the programs allow me to be creative. I print off my pages on photo paper (Costco has the best deal) and put them in a binder album.

So for my blog, I have been doing a little bit of digital scrapbooking. If you look at the movie recomendations, you will see some of the pages I have done for fun. It dresses up my blog and gives me a chance to show off my new love of creativity. Keep watching, it may change every so often.

Ahh...sweet exercise

So I just completed my fifth day of working out this week and it is so nice to be back. I really missed it last week. There is just something about my body feeling refreshed from a bit of exercise. I am not expecting much of a weight loss this week because of Halloween. I have had my chocolate this week. Yes, we got more chocolate than we had trick or treaters. The holidays always bring out the worst in me. I will be happy if I happen to maintain through the holidays. I am hopeful that when I work out 5 to 6 days a week, it may not effect me to bad. Thanksgiving is never an issue with me. I eat, but not over stuff myself. It's my favorite holiday more the family time than the menu. So I am not too worried about that one. It's December that has me worried. I just need control. I do admit that had you caught me with Halloween candy two months ago, it would probably be gone by now. We still have over half of it left. So that shows that I am not eating on it constantly. Remember.... Control!!!! Now if I could just use that for the healthy food, life would be so much better.

Back in Motion

Last night I went to work out with Martha. She did 4 miles and I did 2. I was a little bummed that I did not do all 4 because of my tooth but I really felt it at the end of the 2 mile. I was in motion and that is a big accomplishment. I did my workout today with no issues so was excited about that. I just have to keep it up all week long so I don't lose my momentum.

Levi was so funny today because he started to workout with me with gusto. Then he lost interest and played. A couple of times he thought it was funny to crawl between my legs. I had to tell him no after a couple of runs because I was afraid of falling on him. It was cute. He is constantly evolving. I just love it.

Last Week

Well last week was a hard one. I wanted to keep up my exercising but it was not going to happen because of a double duty Root Canal almost. I had my dentist start a root canal and he found two canals but not the third in my tooth so he referred me to a specialist. He pretty much did half of it. Then the Specialist puts me on antibiotics and schedules the root canal for Friday. I was in so much pain after the numbness wore off that I could not stop balling. I don't think I had that much pain even when Levi was born. With a little help, I was able to get the pain to be tolerable. Mike was such a sweety. He stayed up and listened to Levi's monitor to let me sleep that night and a couple of nights after that. Friday came and I was pins and needles. I was nervous about the root canal repeat. Luckily the specialist was good and numbed me up real good.

I am now ready to resume my energetic exercise program. I have already been doing a lot of housework today which is movement. I am only pausing long enough to snack and then it is back to the fun.

Pay Off!

Today is Saturday and it's the fifth day of exercise. I decided to go all out and do the 4 mile walk away the pounds. I am so excited that I did it. I had a brief thought of doing only 3 but pushed myself to finish it. I am really glad that I did. My legs really feel it.

Finally, the scale and measuring tape are going my way. I lost 5lbs and it stayed off. I lost 2 inches in my waist and 1/2 inch in my hips. I am just so pumped about it. I know the key has been working out 5 days a week. I also don't eat big portions and I am trying to snack more during the day. I admit the. snacks may not always be healthy but I am big on a treat now and then.

I know the reality is that the weight won't always drop like this and eventually I will plateau but for now it is working and that is all that matters.

Confession

So I have a confession to make. I cheated and weighed yesterday after I worked out and though I am not suppose to, I was glad I did. It made me so excited that my five day week work outs are starting to pay off. I won't spoil the moment because my official weigh in is on Saturday and a lot can happen until then. So I will just have to wait and see the result.

The blahs

Yesterday I had the blahs. It didn't help that I was so tired. Levi decided to wake up at 3am and so I changed him and gave him some milk to settle down. He fell asleep on me in the recliner. I loved holding him and just could not part with him. So I tried to sleep in the chair and every time he moved, I woke up. It was a long time before he woke up at 7:30am.  I thought about taking a nap but just could not. His naps were rather short anyway. Thus the blahs began.

I tried to think of something to make for dinner but just could not. What I had planned on, I forgot to take out the chicken and I did not have green onions. So the blah mood continued. Mike was patient when he came home and told me we could finish the leftovers from Sunday's dinner. I was really appreciative.

Then I went to get ready to work out and found a text from my exercise partner, Martha. So with that, I asked Mike if he would go to the store with me to get the stuff I needed for dinner. He did and we walked around. I just felt blah. It didn't help that I was in my exercise clothes, hair pulled up, bangs not done, no makeup and just plain frumpy. It didn't help that Walmart was packed full of people and everywhere we went, there were four or five people looking at the same items. One girl got frustrated with us because we weren't moving and for some reason going past us seemed a huge deal. So that got me frustrated and ready to pull my hair out. Did I mention it was a blah day?

Having survived Walmart, we went home and turned on the tube. I watched my show and Mike played hand held Yatzee (Only type of game he will play-electronic). Levi played and started to get into things he shouldn't. I finally had had enough and off to bed the little feller went. I finished my show while folding laundry. I went and did the dishes so they could be turned on after Mike's shower. I climbed into bed and felt like crying and admit tears threatened to spill. I hate those blah days. Emotions run high and you just don't know why. I finally fell asleep hoping that the blah day would not repeat!
